Tim Spang's eagerness to learn solar construction and a solid reputation as a builder in southern Maine qualified him as our contractor, hands down. His attitude was infectious--nothing was impossible and all problems were solvable. For example, when the concrete was being poured over the radiant floors, the heavy concrete-pumper truck sank into the soft loam. A call from Tim to his brother, who is also in construction, brought a huge front-loader that easily towed the mired truck out.

We are also fortunate that Tim lives quite close to the site. One night, near hurricane-force winds were predicted along the coast and a quick call to Tim got some construction materials tied down before they could fly into our windows.
